Collection on crests, 1997
Contains Brigham Young University folklore students' descriptions of the folkloric value of crests. Items were collected by students in folklore classes at Brigham Young University and Utah State University from 1997. Most of the items are typewritten, but a few of the older items are handwritten. Many of the items contain a description of how, when, and where they were collected as well as explanations of social and cultural contexts.
Men's gold ring / Lloyd Dean Rickenbach, 1997 January 14
Report by Brigham Young University folklore student Lloyd Dean Rickenbach, who received a piece of material lore from his father, Dean Joseph Rickenbach, and submitted a description of it and its significance to his family. It was an antique gold ring that had been worn by seven men in the family, each while serving as a missionary.
